Privacy Policy

Aduthu ("we", "us") runs a local marketplace that connects people who need everyday work done with people nearby who can do it. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. It applies to the Aduthu mobile app and this website.
Information we collect
- Account: your email address (used to sign you in with a one-time code).
- Profile: your name, phone number, the work you do, your service area, and availability — only what you choose to add.
- Jobs & activity: jobs you post or apply to, offers, ratings, and messages of coordination.
- Location: a job's location and (with your permission) your device location, to show and match nearby work.
- Device: a push token (if you enable notifications) and basic technical/log data.
How we use it
- To match jobs with nearby, available people in the right category.
- To let the poster and the assigned worker contact each other (your phone number is shown to the other party only after a job is assigned).
- To send sign-in codes and, if enabled, job alerts.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
Payments
Aduthu takes no commission and never processes job payments. Posters and workers pay each other directly (UPI/cash). We don't store card or bank details for jobs.
Sharing
We don't sell your personal data. We share only what's needed to run the service — e.g. your contact details with your job counterpart once assigned, and trusted providers (maps, email, cloud hosting) acting on our behalf.
Your choices & rights
- Turn job alerts on/off in Settings → Notifications.
- Control location permission from your device settings.
- Delete your account any time in Settings → Delete account.
What happens when you delete your account
We erase your personal information — name, phone, email, work profile, location, push tokens, and your notifications — and immediately end your sessions. Your open jobs and pending offers are removed.
Records that involve another person — completed or assigned jobs, applications, and ratings — are kept in anonymized form (with your identity removed) so the other party's history and any dispute or safety record are preserved. We also keep a minimal log that your deletion request was honored. The email you used is freed, so you can sign up again later as a new account.
Retention
We keep your personal information while your account is active and erase it on deletion as described above. Anonymized, non-identifying records may be retained for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
